Kimberly Phillips-Simonetti, M. Photog., Cr.

Kimberly displayed a natural talent for painting while growing up in and around the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland where she continues to live today.  An artist, Kimberly dabbled in several mediums until high school, when her passion for photography began.   She continued to study photography both inside and outside of the classroom while attending the University of Maryland, apprenticing with several local master photographers.

In 1984, Kimberly went out on her own and became a renowned wedding photographer in the Baltimore area.  Her success enabled her to purchase and completely renovate a circa 1912 home and to open Kimberly Studio’s in 1991.  Her new studio specialized in portraiture where Kimberly was able to meld together her two great loves, art and photography, into her unique, highly stylized and very beautiful style of portraiture.

Kimberly has her Masters in Photography and an Associate Fellow in Photography from the Maryland Professional Photographers Association.  She attends several conferences a year to continue developing herself both artistically and professionally, and as a result, her client’s portraits continue to be both innovative and beautiful, receiving all the benefits of the latest techniques in digital enhancement.

As a noted teacher/lecturer, Kimberly speaks at several professional photography conferences throughout the United States each year and has also served as judge for several different photography organizations.  She’s been published in several hard bound photography collection books and many magazines, including the Professional Photographer’s Magazine where one of Kimberly’s prints was selected to become one of only fifty images being retained for the Professional Photographers of America (PPofA) archive for 1997.  She’s the recipient of many major awards, including several Fuji Masterpiece Awards, Maryland’s Portrait Photographer of the Year for three years running, as well as, being twice recognized by a Maryland Senate Resolution for her achievements as an outstanding portrait photographer.

Having grown up in the area, Kimberly is very involved in her community, actively donating her services and contributing to many local charities, schools and hospitals.  While her portraits may currently be found hanging at several premiere mall locations in the Baltimore area, Kimberly, her husband Dave, their dog Misty and two Siamese cats, Sunny and Stormy may usually be found enjoying their home/studio in Owings Mills, Maryland.
